Information

I am a Chartered Civil Engineer and published author working in AECOM’s asset management team in the UK Water market.

 

My specialisms lie in risk management, optimisation, condition assessment and data analytics for business planning and predictive maintenance. In addition to these skills I have a range of experience in the management and implementation of extensive asset inspection and rehabilitation programmes for large utility providers.

Alongside my technical background I have continued to develop my business leadership skills by directly supporting AECOM's Civil Infrastructure Chief Executive in the management of a $1bn, 9000 person organisation which operates across 50 countries.

Currently undertaking a dual role in AECOM:


1) Business Projects Manager for our Civil Infrastructure Executive team across the EMIA region. This involves working alongside AECOM's Civil Infrastrucutre business line Chief Executive to provide support on support on the organisation and implementation of business improvement projects, strategic planning and executive meeting facilitation / key client engagements. 


2) Asset Management specialist in the Water business. A continuation of my previous role but with responsibilities for the identification and procurement of innovative work, plus the management and technical delivery of projects.

In addition to my role as Principle Engineer (refer to "My Projects" and the "News Feed" for more information) I also undertook a 9 month secondment to AECOM's UK&I Managing Director.

 

My responsibilities included:

​

  • Preparation of business performance information across all end markets in Europe for monthly reporting to Corporate.

  • Development of a new Health & Safety performance tracking system implemented across UK&I.

  • European representative and co-ordinator for the Healthy Start programme.

  • Part of the Integration Management Office for the URS acquisition.

  • Support to Executive Directors during internal and external meetings

  • Implementer of other business improvement initiatives, under the direction of AECOM’s Project Excellence Lead in Europe, i.e. tracking project data quality metrics, C0 project review summaries and a review of AECOM’s bidding process.

I joined AECOM after graduating from Loughborough Univesity. I worked full time in the Water team based at Exeter. During this time I also completed a part-time MSc in Urban Water Systems and I was selected in 2008/09 to become the ICE Presidents Apprentice​.

I worked as a trainee engineering for the civil and structural department at Faber Maunsell during my summer and easter vacations. During these seven years I accumulated a wide range of skills and experience in the indsutry which provided an excellent platform to begin my engineering career after graduation.
